Pharmacist Association West Bengal (PAWB), the only leading professional organisation in the state of West Bengal in India, was established in 1980 to ensure  upliftments of the status of Pharmacist by Educational, Financial, Social, Moral and Cultural demands. The members, who are now about 3200 including students teachers and working professionals engaged in various health institutions including community pharmacies, spread throughout the state, are now sharing views with many other similar organisations of other states like Uttarpradesh, Karnataka, Uttarakhand and national level associations like Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Hindusthan Pharmacist Association etc in our union territory. We are engaged in sharing, following and continuously trying to adopt the international views and standards of Pharmacy Profession among our members through International Pharmaceutical Federation(FIP), Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, World Health Organization(WHO), United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) etc.

            Only we have a Trade Union Registration Number (bearing no.-15476) and are regularly maintaining the rules and regulations as per trade union act and law under Government of West Bengal.

            We are publishing regularly a news-stellar naming ‘PHARMACY DARPAN’ which reflects our views and aims. We also regularly organise various function to observe the important professional programmes like National Pharmacy Week, World Pharmacists Day and other health related days like World AIDS Day, World TB Day etc. Besides, from the very beginning of our run we are regularly organising seminars, symposiums, workshops on Pharmacy and general health.
